DESCRIPTION
Vivian Maier was born in 1926 in New York as a daughter of European immigrants. She earned a living as a nanny for over forty years, but her real passion was photography. With her photographs she captured the street life of Chicago and New York mainly in the 1950s and 60s. She suddenly photographed what she saw and trusted her intuition. Her pictures tell of the beauty of the ordinary and the often tragic-comic in the banal things of life.

All prints shown are from the collection of John Maloof, Chicago.
The exhibition was curated by Anne Morin, director of diChroma Photography.
