I was born in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England in 1977. I studied Fine Art before beginning a career in photojournalism in 2002. To Date I have travelled to over 40 countries covering numerous, often eclectic assignments for Getty Images. I have witnessed Voodoo rituals in Benin, the aftermath of War in Gaza, Hunting with Falcons in the U.A.E. Typhoons in the Philippines and Jewish ceremonies right here on my doorstep in London. Most enjoyable assignments have taken me to remote communities of San Bushmen in the Kalahari, Waterloo re enactments in Belgium and recently to West Africa to look at the amazing people helping return orphaned Chimpanzees back into the wild, a story that remains close to my heart.

As I continue my work as a news photographer, the plight of displaced people around the world has continually re emerged. My first experience began with people fleeing into Tunisia from Libya during the ‘Arab Spring’. In 2014 I looked at the plight of those fleeing Daesh in Northern Iraq / Kurdistan and most recently, I worked on the story that is quickly defining a generation. The ‘Refugee Crisis’, which has brought focus upon the European Union, and continues to dominate the news agenda globally.

My photographs have been published around the world in titles including GEO, The National Geographic, The Guardian, Paris Match and many others.
