Maison Européenne de la Photographie (The European House of Photography), MEP, is located in the centre of Paris. It is a center for contemporary photography. Financial support comes from the City of Paris, sponsorship, public entrance fees, and the assistance of the association "Friends of the European House of Photography".

The MEP opened in February 1996. It houses an exhibition center, a large library, an auditorium, and a video viewing facility. Also on site are a photographic restoration and conservation workshop.

The photography collection is dedicated to the contemporary works. It owns about twenty thousands works of art, mostly photographs (silver and digital photography) and videos. The library has around 24,000 volumes about photography along with artists’ books.

The centre organises a number of major photographic exhibitions each year, as well as offering talks and films.

The Maison Européenne de la Photographie has been directed since 1996 by Jean-Luc Monterosso (Director) and Henry Chapier (President).

There is a café sited in the building's 18th century vaults and a specialized bookstore.

The Maison Européenne de la Photographie opens Wednesday to Sunday.
Free admission every Wednesday from 1700-1945hrs. The exhibition rooms are accessible to disabled persons.
