The Museum für Moderne Kunst (The Museum for Modern Art) Frankfurt is one of the world’s most important museums of contemporary art and, despite being a relative newcomer on the scene, has in the space of less than two decades established a firm place for itself in the international museum scene.

MMK 1/2/3
The museum in effect has 3 locations in Frankfurt. MMK 1 at Domstraße 10; MMK 2 based at TaunusTurm; and MMK 3 at Domstraße 3

In the storeroom-like spaces of the MMK 3 – a former Frankfurt customs building of the year 1927 in use by the museum until now as the MMK Zollamt – current developments in contemporary art are presented. The emphasis lies in monographic exhibitions of remarkable artists from Germany and abroad whose work has hitherto had little presence in the German museum world. Group exhibitions with various thematic focusses are staged, and the MMK 3 is the venue of numerous cooperative projects. Exhibitions with graduates of the Städelschule art academy and the grant recipients of the Jürgen Ponto Foundation are as much a part of the program as symposia and lectures.

With public transport:
U-Bahn metro lines: U4 and U5, Stop Dom / Römer
Trams: 11 and 12, Stop Römer / Paulskirche
S-Bahn (S1 – S6): Stop Konstablerwache
The MMK 3 is 3 minutes walking distance from the stops Dom / Römer (U-Bahn) or Römer / Paulskirche (tram).
